It's Christmas Yes!?

Here I'm here on christmas day and I'm treated to the usual christmas festivities of being locked out of twitter, due to 'temporary service being unavailable' and the fact everyones on there right now. I'm being able to see updates but can't communicate or tweet anyone, I thought I'd release a post/tweet/rant/rage, via this blog, my feelings on Kanyé west's good friday moment and the possible dilemma of an artist that good,I had a very strong argument and feeling that what he released on 'good friday', would be hard to be bettered by the album, simply because Kanyé is such a talented artist, he can't outdo himself, I feel like a lot of the 'real Kanyé' or the one we were accustomed to, was lost in good music friday's, the music and mood of beautiful dark twisted fantasy was so different from his usual stuff, I felt he could have kept good friday's and made an album of it, him releasing all that in the studio made the album feel less at times and I felt like for overall play and consistency, good friday's was better. Especially the track runaway love, feat. Justin Bieber.

People probably don't have an idea that I do music (mostly in my spare time) please have a look at the unofficial video for #gowile or 'go wild', I talk about the inner conflict that I'm sure goes on inside of every man when you look at lust..And how you treat it when love is round the corner..you see, we're not programmed the same as women..Hopefully this gives a woman a clearer view and helps them to understand us more..

Fortunately..

Fortunately Marques Houston picks up after, shortly, though not as good as 'Naked' but he picks up on the slow jam vibes, the autotune, begins to fade and he goes into the style he's best at; That organic singing and 'smooth rnb' that I much admire... Go Houston!

Post! Post! Post!

I had to update with an important of the moment bulletin! I have been listening to Marques Houston on his album, 'Mr Houston', and he has deeply lost the smoothness and sophistication that he embodied in the album 'Naked' all in the name of commerciality an pushing what's current I reasonably like it, but am thoroughly disappointed for what he can do...He has one of the most beautiful organic voices and spoils it for one by using auto-tune he then goes on to let it down lyrically I think the maturity and sophistication has been brought down for a less mature audience I.e. 'Teenagers'; having a diverse taste I like this reasonably but would have probably never have spent my money on this, (I got it free)* Stay posted for future postings I may update, I may like, I may change my tune, but right now Marques Houston with 'autotune' is not 'the tune', smh...

Current Obsessions, currently obsessed with

The new Nas/Damian Marley album; it has a nice spiritual feeling to it, is great inspirational and Nas is back with the lyrics, its a shame that Nas only puts it in when he wants to or 'has got to' or is inspired, this time its thanks to Damian Marley they really feed off each other well and are a great team with great chemistry, it might be mediocre on its own, but together, they are outstanding; the production is brilliant lyrically sound..The lyrics are amazing, great metaphors (what Nas is best at) and great hooks/chorus's they really went- in;
with this album its a brilliant masterpiece,(Oh and watch out for a Brilliant impromptu, performance by K'naan he really kills it [waving flag]) if only I could ask for Nas to show this kind of consistency(greatness/brillance) in his solo career and show this kind of motivation 'this' (his career in my eyes) would be much better...
In other words the last time I saw this type of 'Nas' was in Stillmatic, very disappointed after buying Gods Son, so this should definitely lift your spirits! Go and get it!

Frisky...

Tinie Tempah Frisky First Look
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SoKT900YbCc
@tinietempah
@labrinthda1st
note: pause at 3:19 classic moment

I'm sure Tinie Tempah had loads of fun, shooting his video for frisky, its 'artistically correct', the shots are wicked and show a dark, mysterious nocturnal view to the thoughts and actions that are so 'frisky' during the night time, and that is what the video is a representation of; Labrinth shows he has a knack for great chorus's and showcases his vocal range (almost) and the beat in a sense has that dark spooky mysterious sound (coupled with his delivery, for the mood of the video)
to it, when one can be their most mischievous...The drums as usual are out of this world the beat is okay (it almost seems like a more 'subtle' version of 'pass out')
..The hooks are perfect 'hook line and sinker' every aspect of that, just the first verse/first two seconds (0:44 to 0:46) show points of 'atrocity' and I don't know where Tinie Tempah is going with that similar to Lil Wayne/Nickie Minaj,(Shout) voice aspect, so I don't think its delivered in the best way possible/most authentic, but overall I like it...Image wise Tinie Tempah has come on point though I don't know what that 'shawl' thing his wearing at 0:55 is doing (fashionistas get at me!) I'm normally one for seeing 'white' artists/painters/mods wearing these type of (weirdish) clothes on them, though I have nothing against Tinie Tempah trying a new fashion I just think it looks ridiculous, apart from that, fashion is on point completely for the rest of the show, the visuals aren't brilliant but their nice, clear and simple with good camera views and lighting to catch the mood, they definitely show something that is more, artistically correct, they chose a great artistic backdrop in an area with an 'oldish' feel to it, to give the feeling of a theme where his chasing the woman through all these dark creepy places, and 'they' (the women) are creeping through it, I guess in this story Tinie Tempah is meant to be the perpetrator or is it the women...1:16 that is the most interesting piece of jewellery I have seen on a man, a duck feather of some sort, dangling from Labrinth's ear (hats off to that!). I love the fact, the videos direction was based more on artistic direction and creativity then 'commercialism' but then thats what happens with smaller budgets nowadays (remember Tinchy Stryder's video was one giant block in a room!) There is something dark an mysterious about the video an beat, I like it, I wish I could say the same for the first verse/ 8 - 16 bars..This is a pop song so you don't expect anything from this lyrically...Just that, it gets stupid up to the point where he says 'chocolate biscuit' from that point on its smooth sailing..and a much better tone, I do like the way Tinie Tempah has emphasised his 'Britishness' in that manner and in his raps in general.. 'Scunthorpe, Chocolate Biscuits, 'etc.. it might be a formula that works, the Scunthorpe one definitely did!

So overall I give
this video an 8.0 out of 10

for visual direction and creativity

8 for originality

7 for Tinie Tempahs flow
I don't know where he's going with that
nicki minaj/Lil Wayne shout voice but overall
I like it)

7 for delivery
He delivers the song well, but you wonder if
with that voice he uses is he totally serious and
at times its a hazard to the ears! The overall talent
makes up for it and you end up enjoying it (kind of)

8 for Lyrical content
I know I may get a lot of stick for this, but its entertaining
and is done in a catchy and cool way, though 'chocolate biscuit'
isn't really a 'lyric', you do get where the song is going and
are entertained throughout..
(the 'Trisha metaphor' was a no go but, he keeps you entertained
overall)

So I think its fair to say an 8/10 is a fair overall rating for this vid..

Current thought, latest

Tinie Tempah, Frisky..An interesting release...

ROA

Rebirth of Autotune (roa)
note:Usher (OMG)
@NBTPAIN
@Iamwill
@usherramondIV
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPm25m8DZpA

After the current climate of everyone doing the same thing, and copying off of each other (shaking my head at the predicament) some have approached this with good musical knowledge an shown to do it, better then any other will.i.am has schooled them on new school production and him + ushers voice have rediscovered 'autotune they've shown a mastery to it that not many know, too many concentrate on 'disposable pop music' and copy without even knowing what the 'indent' means 'will i.am' and his team have surely researched the indent and mastered it to their best capability..I must commend them on their approach and the way they've used autotune, check the usher video o.m.g for what i'm talking about (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPm25m8DZpA) and follow him on twitter at @usherramondIV, Follow the legend of autotune on twitter at @NBTPAIN also follow superproducer WIll.i.am @Iamwill.

Rachel Kerr

Rachel Kerr

One of the headlining acts at Iluvlive; her energy was phenomenal her voice was great some of her notes, surreptitiously melted my ears,she's beautiful her choreography is on point, her backing vocalists are perfect (almost, well as tight as can 'be') it was a great 'visual' performance to watch.
The entire crowd was on their feet an swaying to the 'riddims' her band played there's also an element of Beyonce to her vocal styling and sassiness; I saw that a bit in her style...The vocalness; but closer to a Toni Braxton range,style and her whole persona on stage I thoroughly enjoyed it and was nodding my head to the beat throughout..

Iluvlive

@Iluvlive
@irate_modu
http://modudesigns.bigcartel.com/

I Always go to Iluvlive; searching out new artists and discovering new unique (to follow) talent. Okay he's not the most 'lyrically talented' but his raw unique way of delivering his songs do much for me, okay their weren't that many lyrics or 'bars' flying around, but when he got into the 'swing' of things he really did his thing, bar quite a 'stuttled' nervous start to his part as the opening act for 'iluvlive' I am talking about the artist irate his got a mixtape called 'hype n grime' coming out his unique 'euphemism' and energy really caught my attention, the chorus and delivery are still repeating in my head(days afterwards), he had that unique ragga 'rawness' to him, excitement an character reminiscent of busta rhymes an he smelt like a real 'rasta' authentic 'raw' jamaican (no weed involved)...The thing that was the most surprising, or threw me back the most, was his off the stage persona, completely different a lot more approachable, very mellow, the complete opposite of what he is on stage, still a rasta, but a calm one at that...And on that note I end it there.. Check out the design for his album, cover an check out his music, Oh and not to forget his colourful fanfare of clothes designs, bright and appealing his fashion designs, are way past articulate..check them out for yourself here! @

Stupidity

Its stupid actions like these, that get me questioning the 'brains' of people..People will ride a motorcycle and ride 'dangerously' over the speed limit, not only just that, but a speed at which that if they touched someone that person would die instantly if not themselves, look at a motorway accident that happened a week, ago (depicted above), I wonder who was at fault for this, i really do...

Urbanism...No Turban...

'Urbanism' a bit worse then 'canabilism'

Thoughts an feelings on urbanism..An Labelling something 'urban'
(being black an feeling urban)

But it ain't really is it,I thought urban was a bad word to label all black people as, I thought one was being ignorant to put it as a title for genre's I might always feel a certain way about the use of 'urban in my life..But I know this..I know its use is fundamental to our growth of the 'urban' industry or society I almost feel though that it allows for more discrimination "look at those urbans" would that hurt or be taken lightly I know not, I do know that urban at the same time not only describes a culture thats 'predominantly 'black' it also descibes a name for 'street' clothing combat and 'concrete environments' aka 'city' based closures/modernism, but when it comes down to it, is 'Urban' really a good word, leave your views and comments under feedback...

Although one said the 'uprightness' or 'stiffness' of british culture is such that rather then, get to the point they'd rather say 'urban' instead of black...To be polically correct, which is beating around the bush and comes off a bit stupid almost a bit more racist 'sounding', if you ask me and thats where 'ignorance' comes to play...

Currently Playing...

I just tried out the new game for fifa 10 world cup and already found some fundamental flaws in the gameplay engine how is it that one turn from ashley cole results in such loose ball control and a lazy poke giving the ball to an opposition for a goal..I should have 'recorded' anyway I'll update you on this 'abysmally' flawed interface and its other problems like a 5 minute game is not five minutes and you cannot cancel the fmv sequences (as all you want to do is just play) and thats a waste of time as i'm concerned...Will get back to you later, peace up!

Mixtape Of The Moment...

The Clipse
Re-up Gang, The Saga Continues...
@THECLIPSE

What I also love about this mixtape is it has all my most favourite instrumentals, most heartfelt beats, I am re-commenting, as i'm reviewing it as it plays along..Real HIP HOP IS HEREEEE..These guys swag is 'off the chain'..Damnit! It's an 'official mixtape! That means no 'free mixtape' for me...

Jamie Foxx, JT, Ti

Now listening to the song and really enjoying myself..This morn 3;14am..Call me sad! If you want.

Song Of The Moment

Jamie Foxx and JT ft. TI 'winner'
@jamiefoxxxxx
@jtimberlake
*I would post the free dl link here, but I don't know if i'm doing something bad..*

Its funny..Because up to this point Jamie Foxx had been losing his touch making silly stupid music and his choice of production was abysmal, he's now going back to what his good at makin that smooth r&b that every lady in the club will feel and not every teenage girl..(No rapage) extending on that, his performance on his last album, judging by the singles...(The useless ones, that means all) he lost his crown as king of r&b because of that..The funny story about this song is as I immediately heard it on the radio I felt it was a great move it showed the brilliance that a lot of the current r&b generation has lacked, although JT has always kept it goin, I felt this is what was missing this 'quality' and the subject matter not extensive or 'extra', but anyway going back to the topic I travelled all the way to choice fm radio station (their old building) in my local area..Borough and was then to discover they were no longer there I was then able to find out from some 'fortunate' black people where it was I then traveled all the way to leicester square and was given a no. to dial every time I dialled no answer (absolutely..long)..I desparately wanted to know this song, but by some hidden blessing I found it out thanks to a 'cd specialist and the fact that it was one one of the best r&b series cd's out, so going on that today I was able to find it and I am blessed..And will listen to it after getting over my tune of the moment, with ne-yo, lets just be...;)

Mixtape of the moment...

the Clipse
@THECLIPSE
Re-Up Gang The Saga Continues

Call me late..But I've only just heard this, listening to it on my all too favoured 'we7' its brilliant has lyrical mystery...And circles around the come up of the clipse, their definitely back with this one and after the problems with their record label who can say no..Fiery lyrics from beginning to end...Definitely one to get..Now looking to find my free download...

Tune Of The Moment

Let's Just Be
@neyoofficial
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PV4pmGRcDZI&feature=related

This is the tune i'm listening to at the moment I always leave it on when I pop open my firefox window, and leave it to play..Neyo is the king of r&b for me, because he is always able to bring that old school r&b an articulate it perfectly. He gives that vibe, smooth seductive and brilliant and I love it...I wish this had made it on to the year of the gentleman album, like that 'New Kids On The Block', tune...Its a shame it was sold it was given to Miguel Jontell, who has an almost identical voice to Ne-yo's but in a sense even better it has a 'better body' to it...But going back on that..Ne-yo is my best an fave and i'm just endorsing him for this tune.... I (heart) Ne-yo (big smile :D)

Over

Over
@drakkardnoire

Today I was treated to a glimpse of the drake over video the lighting and setting of the video definitively reflects the mood, quite strongly...The beginning is epic the imagery is brilliant the direction is off the chain, I love the way they place his silhouette with the flames to metaphise, how he feels inside...He has a storm goin on inside, stormy weather the rain clouds of a relationship gone by...Brilliant..The lighting is so full effect and so on point to catch the emotion, for production I'd definitely have to give this song a 9 out of 10...I think one thing that makes drake seem so likeable is he isn't afraid to seem vulnerable ( we like artists that seem 'human', like Lil Wayne...He just puts his feelings out there he finitely does it on this tune...At the first 15, seconds of the vid, the mood an lightin settings definitely reflect the cinematic movie feel to the music an sequence in which it 'integrates,(as we take a trip inside his emotions...) it's definitely a great thing to envision, its like you almost get to 'taste' drakes thoughts and its almost as if your sitting next to him or he's talking to you..the next scene is brilliant as if he's sitting as if he's going on a highroad all to give a visual experience to the musical metaphor and you can see, what he's 'doing' or where he is...Though you could call it cheating because he's just sitting on the bed, so its cheap camera effects, lack of costs for scenery and change of view (I blame young money) since thats his record label and his management since his also signed to them..But I am definitely one for minimal videos and envision them as ways that 'artists' are given a chance to be more 'artistic and express their 'views' or directors...But just as I expected the verse begins in a different room another minimalist opportunity where there Is no background, but this is brilliant, because Directors are being more creative with what they've got, irrespective of the lower budgets..It looks brilliant with the black backdrop and the camera is focused on the 'lone ranger', drake, the lone artist standing alone, I figure scenes like this are so small, maybe they are viewed in the bathroom, or done in a small warehouse...It works brilliantly to cinematic effect...The vid flashes back to him in his room around the 1:13 mark, I take it these are the two scenes chosen for the video and the rest of the effects, are spent on 'duplicating drake'...1:18 I don't know how 'sweetest thing' relates to an 'atomic bomb' but quite interesting, maybe a metaphor of 'addiction' and how his getting his mind blown 1:24 a great moment when it cuts to the next scene an Drake is moving in an almost blur to give that michael jackson 'rock with u' effect to give a visual to the 'flurry' of words, he's 'hitting', the effects and 'duplicates take a good turn for the better and visually the director is using effects to 'full effect' indeed fully using his creativity to its full effectiveness..The best parts are, when they have drake in the sky blue looking room/background and blurring 'effects' // multiplying his image.
The video shows there's much more to it then those two rooms as the scene cuts to drake dressed differently in a different scene, surrounded by 'flurries' of moving people darting at a frantic pace, to symbolise all the 'latecomers'/fakes ('directionless people) the fact that their 'faceless/blurred// ghost 'like' state reinstates the fact of drake not knowing "who the fuck r y'all".
Second verse, the vision with the wordings goes together brilliantly I don't like how the scenes/rooms are linked together on the second chorus, they don't blend well, well I guess they also display different 'persons'/him at different 'stages' of the 'emotion/journey'. The video then though minimal, takes a visual im 'press' and steps up another level visual with the fade/effects/ surroundings/ colours, 2:27 the nigerian? O Kosovan, 'Rita ora' (I thought she was nigerian, the name)...These spaces and room selections/environments are visually crafted well and well shot these pieces go together very well, the way the woman is blurred in the background is almost as if an image of the 'groupies' tempting him and throwing it in his face, but more closer to it being about drake 'him doin him'/thinkin out loud
and being a representation of his 'contemplative thoughts'/ the thoughts in his head, 2:48 reminds me a lot of 'doa' visually and also how the glass breaks.
On the 3rd verse the 'multiply' effects in the blue room step up another level and get even better, rita ora is a bad actress, her facial expressions, aren't convincing... The flashes on the blue scene with the blur an imagery are the most magical and brilliant effects known to man/in this video..As the video progresses towards the end it gets better and better was gonna give this a 7 but will move it to an 8 the video ends with drake doin 'him' an his girl leaves him as thats the life he chose to pursue, (the hoe always stays in the background though he looks at her he keeps his back to her.."they tell me that they love me, i know better then that its game, its just what come with the fame, and i'm ready for that i'm just saying" )living somewhere in between the groupies and 'u' (his girlfriend)making for that space in the middle, his space, him, hence him doin 'him'. The video ends as drakes 'journey'beings, "its far from over"...

Flow/delivery/ 7/10 though I like his flow on here i ain't the 'biggest' fan of drake (or his voice, but every time I view this video I'm liking it more, 'silent .5')

Video: 7.5/8 out of 10

Production 9/10 The production lends itself to a great chorus which makes for the greatest thing,

your ears have ever seen, the usual from drake...

Overall 8/10

Enza

Curently reviewing...Smiler (enza)
@smilermusic
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3__XM--uqRE

Two weeks back an the smiler enza video was released I had the pleasure of seeing him perform initially before this on iluvlive I was, I must say vividly entertained, though, it has been said for some, the live performance, takes something out of the single, depending on what you've heard first, for me, the live performance was a spoiler, although you can see the strong points of the single/his performance, he has a unique coolness about him, (no chipmunk) he also has his own style the flow was on point and he did it in a way that kept one entertained (referring back to performance) in light of the single though. Without comparing it directly to his live performance it is quite a single and a way to start your career as a rapper its definitely not soft, but its far from a "pretentious" song, neither do I feel like he's being something that he's not, like some uk artists, his definitely let it flow vividly and its been an 'organic' production, I must say...

When live..

When live the intro is epic and has that kind of 'feel' to it, you really feel the silence or the space as the track begins the guy on the guitar, definitely killed what he was doin and of course smiler shined on it, he didn't look 'false' and his swagger came across immaculate, lyrical content initially you might not say its the most lyrical but after five seconds of listening the way he delivers it and his flow convinces you...This is a lyrical Abolishment...The attitude is definitely there i rate smiler as a 5 star mc, judging on this performance, now back to the track...

The Song/Vid

Smiler has a youthful energetic voice, the vid starts with the smiler logo, it then goes into the crazy drums that they use in this vid, known for that uk grime ukish sound, they definitely smahed the drums on this..The flow and delivery is reticient of capone of 'capone n noreaga'
i like the energy and feel to the track and the way he approached it.. *sidenote*I did think the 'loafers' looked silly ..But, it doesn't matter, the drums are very infective on this track and i think the samples for drums provide the most effective part of a production he as definitely murdered these and the intensity is on point to full effect, definitely a modern feel to the production..The flash with the white woman with blonde hair, wasn't the best 'flash view'..The pool scene is definitely on point ..The video is overall very smooth, with good colour and trasitioning between scene, the production quality definitely went through the roof for that one..The colours are well balanced with not too many darks or lights, to fit the mood of the video

OVerall the song is an A+

8/ 10 for the song

9/10 for the vid

9/10 for the production, the beat is an absolute smash! those drums are enough to sell me! you can call me biased because I love drums but it definitely gives the full effect in this vid

7/10 for lyrical content, this is a very 'political' question you can't really say whether its a 'lyrical' song or not...But I love it

Overall I give it 8/8.5 out of 10...
